3 Villages Community Group

3 Villages is a completely volunteer based group. Our aim is to work with and assist local groups, residents and businesses in Yattalunga, Saratoga and Davistown. This includes helping apply for government funding and grants.

Our goal is to help the local residents reach the dreams and possibilities of enhancements that can be made to our community.

I live by my favourite quote: Nike –  “Just do it!”

Saratoga has been home to me for over 20 years but I was originally, from Adelaide, before moving to Cooma, Newcastle, Sydney, St Clair and Green Point until settling here. I’ve been married for 42 years and have also spent much time in Abu Dhabi, Manila and travelling the world. I’ve worked many years as a PA, served 15 years in the Army Reserve (became a sergeant), several years in real estate and now spend time renovating or building homes which I love. My husband and I have three amazing, children & seven grandchildren, all of whom we are extremely proud.

I love our friendly community, the beautiful waterways, the peacefulness in which we are surrounded and the varied nature at our doorstep which makes me feel like I am on holidays every single day!

Having found myself with free time, volunteering in the community makes me happy. I guess, the Jirramba Ave Playground Project was where it started for me. There are so many projects on the list including Saratoga Oval and Lintern St Wharf upgrade.

My husband Jamie and I moved to Saraatoga in 2008. We had been holidaying on the Central Coast at Copacabana for many years and found it harder to go home each time we  came up. We loved the area; it’s waterfront and the small community feel. I have been involved in volunteer work for over 30 years both with APEX and more recently Rotary. I am also a member of the Central Coast Dementia Alliance and volunteer with Days for Girls Avoca Beach.

I have three children and 3 grandchildren with my 2 daughters living on the Central Coast. Jamie and I love to traveland in my spare time I walk with the local Heart foundation walking group and am involved in a local book club. My career was predominantly within the Disability Sector with the last 22 years as a General Manager with a Not-for-profit organisation based in Castle Hill. I retired 2 years ago which gave me the time to volunteer in our local community.

Stephanie has spent most of her working life focussing on Not for Profit organisations, and recently retired from the role of CEO of the Australasian Sleep Association, after 20 years with the organisation.

Stephanie has a deep understanding of governance, strategic planning, regulation, compliance, finance and advocacy.  She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

She has been part of the 3 Villages Community on a weekend basis for many years, but has recently moved full time to Yattalunga, and has family living in the area.  She is keen to ensure that the area develops into a vibrant community supported by all levels of Government.

I moved to the Central Coast when I was just two but have spent ten years living in QLD and one year travelling Australia in a bus with my husband and two girls. We also spent one year living in the UK, but other than that, I have lived on the coast all my life, and moved with my family to the 3 Villages in 2017.

Growing up in Erina Heights I attended Terrigal Primary, Erina Heights Public and Terrigal High schools. My parents built a preschool at Kincumber (when there were hardly any houses there) and Dad was a high school teacher at The Entrance, Terrigal and Erina high schools. Both sets of grandparents were also “Coasties” growing orchids, working at the local racecourse, in pest control and a school principal at local primary schools.

Although I studied hospitality, most of my working life has been in admin and bookkeeping along with owning businesses. When a community opportunity presented itself, as the Saratoga Hall Booking Officer, I jumped at the chance right away. Now, I am looking forward to helping the committee expand the use of our wonderful hall for the 3 Villages community!

Bush Urban Garden Group

Gardening has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My parents were gardeners; Dad grew the veggies, Mum grew the ornamentals. It comes to me as naturally as breathing and I like nothing more than pottering around in my own garden and getting my hands dirty. Doesn’t mean I’m any good at it, but it keeps me out of mischief! And I’m always happy to encourage fledgling gardeners.

I have lived on the Coast all my life, and moved to Saratoga 17 years ago. It’s been about 3 years now since the 3 Villages Committee put out a call for volunteers to take on the job of establishing a Community Garden in the area. Myself and 2 other lovely people put our hands up. While the Community Garden is still on the drawing board, we have managed to plant a more visually appealing garden at the Saratoga Shopping Centre as well as a garden opposite the telephone exchange on Davistown Road.

The BUGGs are the Bush, Urban, Garden Group and we do our work under the banner of the 3 Villages Community Group. Eventually we’d like to take on some bush regeneration projects and are on a waitlist with Central Coast Council for their mentorship.

I moved back to Davistown about 8 years ago with my youngest daughter. My grandparents moved here 35 years ago with family dating back nearly 70 years. Having spent many happy childhood days here in Davistown I wanted to be a part of the community spirit that is the 3 villages for our wonderful area and our kids.
